Rorschach Artist Profiles: TVBOO

In case you missed it, rising artist TVBOO dropped an awesome dubstep track on RMG earlier this week with fellow artist Boo Munch called “Let It.”

The track gives off amazing nostalgic vibes as its old-school sound takes you back. TVBOO and Boo Munch deliver a gritty, aggressive sound that really showcases the diversity of these two talent producers. We spoke with TVBOO to get a better understanding of who he is as a part of our Rorschach Artist Profiles. Check it out below:

Q: For anyone who may not know, could you tell us who you are and what drives you to create music? What’s the meaning behind the name ‘TVBOO’?

A: I never really knew what drove me to make music. I’ve just always have had this passion for it ever since I started playing instruments as a kid. Even before then, I just loved the way it made me feel. Music is my life man, I feel like I wouldn’t be alive right now if it wasn’t for it. TVBOO (spelled taboo) was a name that was given to me when I was a teenager but never stuck as a nickname lol. I’ve always been that guy who says the weirdest, most off the wall shit that no one else says or is suppose to say. So that’s where the name came from but what I like about it is the meaning behind it and I’ve built the image of this project around that.

Q: What were the inspirations behind the sounds you and Boo Munch used on “Let It”?

A: It’s hard to nail down the inspirations because I take inspiration from the smallest things like somebody’s voice or a plant (I know it sounds weird but its happened). Sean (Boo Munch) and I just wanted to make a fun turnt up song. The reactions we’ve been getting live have been amazing.

Q: How did you first hear about Rorschach? What struck you about the label?

A: From my good friend Kevin Tartaglio of course! Anytime I’ve ever needed anything he’s always had my back. Kevin is the man and I knew if he was working with them then I’d be taken care of.

Q: As an artist, what does it mean to you to keep control of your own masters?

A: It means that nobody can steal or try to own my shit haha.

Q: Who are your top 5 artists to keep on eye on currently?

A: Shanghai Doom, Peekaboo, sfam, bawldy, VCTRE
