Just under a week ago, RMG teamed up with Hyphee and fellow artists Benvy and Beatwalker to unleash an absolutely stunning future bass piece titled “This Time.” The bright, airy track comes just in time for the peak of summer, ready to beef up any and all party playlists. You can check out the full review of “This Time” HERE!
We spoke with Hyphee as the latest part of our Rorschach Artist Profiles series, covering his inspirations, artists to watch, and more. Give the interview a read below!
Q: For anyone who may not know, could you tell us who you are and what drives you to create music?
A: I am Hyphee, I have been producing for 4 years and What drives me to make music is just the shear love for music! Ever since I was an adolescent I just had this love for all genres and all music alike. It’s really too funny to see it all come full circle in life and try and produce all genres.
Q: What were the inspirations behind this song. What was it like to work with Benvy and Beatwalker on this song?
A: I was inspired to write this tune because everything I tend to sit down and write comes out a little harder than I want and really wanted to try and focus on writing something a little softer and prettier than I typically write. Benvy and I have an incredible workflow as we have knocked out probably 10 or more tracks together already! Then Beatwalker has been a musical inspiration to me for a very long time and to be able to call him a dear friend and work him on many different tunes has really been an exciting to for me!
Q: How did you first hear about Rorschach? What struck you about the label?
A: I was turned on to Rorschach through my friend Jhonathon Dossa aka SCRVP and I was struck to the label from its art designs to the incredible releases that have touched this world.
Q: As an artist, what does it mean to you that Rorschach allows you to keep ownership and control of your own masters when signing with them.
A: It means alot to me to keep ownerships and masters among the writers because we have more control of our own fates.
Q: Who are your top 5 artists to keep on eye on currently?
1. Nitti Gritti
4. Pixel Terror
